OUR STORY

"For us, the ocean is more than a playground; it's a place that brings perspective, energy and a sense of coming home."

We're Ruby and Thijs, partners in life and adventure, parents of Millie and Manu, and together we create everything Sukacita.

We live by the Dutch coast, where our days are shaped by the rhythm of the sea. Surfing, beach walks, time outdoors and slow mornings in nature are a big part of how we live and recharge. After spending five years living together in Australia, our connection to the ocean only grew stronger. For us, the ocean is more than a playground; it's a place that brings perspective, energy and a sense of coming home.

Sukacita was born from a shared desire to create the kind of experiences we believe more people need: experiences that combine adventure, connection, nature and personal growth in a way that feels light, genuine and deeply human.

Together, we believe that life is meant to be fully experienced. We know first-hand how powerful it is to spend time in nature, move your body, challenge yourself, slow down and connect with others. It has brought us more energy, freedom and joy than we ever imagined, and this is exactly what we hope to share with you.
